Week of October 9th-12th
Our Reading story for
the week is “Dig, Dig, Digging!”.
Our question of the week is: How do machines help people work? The Amazing
Words for this story are: scooping, squelching, spinning, swooshing, gobbling,
rumbling. The high frequency words are: a, to. The text based comprehension skill
is classifying and categorizing. We will listen for /t/ spelled Tt at the
beginning or end of a word. We will focus on the correct formation of Tt. Please
practice reading the “Tam!”
decodable story. *Each decodable story can be recorded for the monthly Reading
Logs. J
In Math, we will
begin Unit 6, Sorting and Classifying 2-D and 3-D shapes. Please see the Home
School Connection letter sent in the folder today.
In Science, we will
continue discussing the seasons and focusing in on changes in Fall. In Social
Studies, we will learn about Fire Safety.
The FIELD TRIP to
Rohrbach’s Farm has been cancelled due to the wet weather. More information
about rescheduling or planning a field trip later in the year will come home
