Week
of April 22nd-26th
Our Reading story for
the week is “This Is the Way We Go to
School!”. Our question of the week is: How do children around the world go to school? The Amazing Words
for this story are: cable car, horse-and-buggy, Metro line, trolley, skis,
vaporetto. The high frequency words are: where,
come. The text based comprehension skill is draw conclusions. We will listen for /y/ spelled Yy and /kw/
spelled Qu. Please practice reading the “Run,
Tim” decodable story. *Each decodable story can be recorded for the
monthly Reading Logs. J
In Math, we will take
our Measurement assessment. Please look for it to be signed and returned
mid-week. We will begin our Money unit tomorrow. Please continue counting to 100 by 1’s, 10’s
and 5’s. Additionally, we have been counting to 20 by 2’s.
In Science, we will continue
our unit on living and non-living things.
The Basket Raffle will be held on Saturday and
Sunday in the NSE gym. Students who donated towards our basket will receive a
coupon for a prize drawing and can have a free dress down this Friday, April 26th.
The coupon will be stapled to this newsletter if your child donated to our
basket.
