Week
of March4-8th
Our Reading story for
the week is “If You Could Go To
Antarctica”. Our question of the week is: What would it be like to have an Antarctic adventure? The Amazing
Words for this story are: Antarctica, continent,
icebergs, penguins, seals, whales. The high frequency words are: here, go, from. The text based
comprehension skill is classify and
categorize. We will listen for /e/ spelled Ee. Please practice reading the “Ten Ten Ten!” decodable story.
*Each decodable story can be recorded for the monthly Reading Logs. J
In Math, we will look
to finish our topic on addition this week. We have been counting to 100 every
day. Please continue to do so at home by 1’s, 10’s and 5’s. Additionally, we have
been counting to 20 by 2’s.
In Science, we will finish
up our Physical Science Unit.
**Please continue
working on naming letters, saying beginning sounds of words, segmenting words
into sounds ( say dog-student then says /d/ /o//g/)and reading nonsense words.
