Week
of February 25th-March 1st
Our Reading story for
the week is “Goldilocks and the Three
Bears”. Our question of the week is: How Can an Adventure Cause Trouble? The Amazing Words for this
story are: bears, cottage, porridge, big,
middle sized, small. The high frequency words are: one, two, three, four, five. The text based comprehension skill is character. We will listen for /g/
spelled Gg. Please practice reading the “How
Many?” decodable story. *Each decodable story can be recorded for the
monthly Reading Logs. J
In Math, we will
continue working on addition. We will use the vocabulary words: join, sum, and
equal. We will learn to use the plus sign and equal sign. Continue to practice
counting to 100 by 1’s, 10’s and 5’s.
In Science, we will continue
our Physical Science Unit. In this unit, we will continue to learn about our
five senses and what objects are made of as well as sorting and using objects.
We will be
celebrating Dr. Seuss all week! Students are welcome to bring in any Dr. Seuss
storybooks you may have at home. J
February Reading Logs
will be collected on Friday, March 1st. Remember, the goal is to
read 15 books per month in order to receive the Pizza Hut coupon.
**Please continue
working on naming letters, saying beginning sounds of words, segmenting words
into sounds ( say dog-student then says /d/ /o//g/)and reading nonsense words.
