of April 15th-18th
Our Reading story for
the week is “On the Move!”.
Our question of the week is: How do
people in different parts of the world travel? The Amazing Words for this
story are: travel, llama, submarine,
kayak, dogsled, double-decker bus. The high frequency words are: where, come. The text based
comprehension skill is main idea. We
will listen for /v/ spelled Vv and /z/ spelled Zz. Please practice reading the “Val’s Top” decodable story.
*Each decodable story can be recorded for the monthly Reading Logs. J
In Math, we will be
learning to tell time! Kindergarten students are expected to tell time to the
hour. Last Friday, we made clocks to be kept at home to practice telling time. J We will use the vocabulary words:
minute hand, hour hand, “o’clock”, digital and analog. Please continue counting to 100 by 1’s, 10’s
and 5’s. Additionally, we have been counting to 20 by 2’s.
In Science, we will continue
our unit on living and non-living things. We will learn about Spring weather
and incorporate the five senses.

envelope, please do so right away.
