Week of March 26th-29th

Next week in Reading we will begin the story Mayday! Mayday!. The question we will focus on is: What kinds of transportation help us in an emergency? This story is an informational text and we will be focusing on the comprehension skill of cause and effect. Our phonics skill is /ks/ spelled Xx. Our high frequency words are: yellow, blue, and green.

Next week in Math we will finish Topic 8, Understanding Subtraction. Our test will be on Wednesday, March 28th. In this topic, we will learn about stories about separating, take away and comparing. Additionally, we will learn about using the minus sign, finding differences and subtraction sentences. Please continue practicing counting to 100 by ones, fives, and tens as well as writing numbers 0 to 20.

Please be sure to send in any auction basket donations. We have the following items: power pump hydro blaster, 1 spray kid’s sunscreen, goggles, and an inflatable raft. Some ideas for our basket include: sunscreen, goggles, mask, pool toys, flip-flops, sun hats, visor, Frisbee, balls, rafts, pool noodles, inflatables, towels, and swim bag.
