Week of March 25th-29th

Our Reading story for the week is “Mayday! Mayday!”. Our question of the week is: What kinds of transportation help us in an emergency? The Amazing Words for this story are: rescue, yacht, mechanic, pilot, sailor, shimmering. The high frequency words are: yellow, blue, green. The text based comprehension skill is cause and effect. We will listen for /ks/ spelled Xx. Please practice reading the “Max” decodable story. *Each decodable story can be recorded for the monthly Reading Logs. J

In Math, we will finish our subtraction unit this week. We will take the test Thursday. Please look for the test to be signed and retuned. J Please continue counting to 100 by 1’s, 10’s and 5’s. Additionally, we have been counting to 20 by 2’s.

Spring pictures will be taken tomorrow, March 26th. All students will have their picture taken. In a few weeks, the pictures will be sent home. If you choose to keep them, you must pay for the standard package. If you do not want to keep the pictures, they should be returned.

Upcoming important dates:

·         3/26 Spring Picture Day (Send in the background form, no payment is needed until after the pictures arrive.)

Monday is Day 1-Art, Tuesday is Day 2-Guidance, Wednesday is Day 3-Gym, Thursday is Day 4-Music, Friday is Day 5-Computers.
